Dr. Brandon Lucas is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine who treats general orthopedic conditions, as well as a large variety of sports, knee, & shoulder conditions. Dr. Lucas is fellowship-trained in knee & shoulder arthroscopy, shoulder replacement surgery, shoulder instability surgery, & patellar instability surgery.
Dr. Lucas is a native of Terre Haute, Indiana. He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology & a minor in chemistry. Dr. Lucas earned his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana & was inducted into the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. He then completed orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Carmel Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. After residency, he traveled south to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he completed a sports medicine fellowship at Ochsner Health Systems. There, he trained under skilled & talented physicians, treating a large variety of sports-related injuries. He assisted with physician coverage of the New Orleans Saints NFL team & the New Orleans Pelicans NBA team. He also provided coverage to local high schools & colleges.
After completing fellowship, he moved to the Los Angeles area to begin practicing. Dr. Lucas specializes in the surgical treatment of sports-related injuries, shoulder reconstruction, & a multitude of orthopedic issues, but understands that most problems of the musculoskeletal system can be treated successfully with non-operative methods. He truly believes in treating each patient as an individual and is passionate about returning them to an active lifestyle.
