Dr Maya C. Spaeth is a Board-Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who specializes in routine and complex hand and wrist surgery for adults and children,
Dr Spaeth has 9 years of specialty training after Medical School, over 15 years of Clinical experience, 8 years of teaching medical students, residents and hand surgery fellows, and over 30, 000 hours of operative experience at Loma Linda University, The Ohio State University, Nationwide Children’s Hospital and more recently in several SoCal hospitals..
Dr Spaeth grew up in the Pacific Northwest and received her Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia; attended Medical School at the University of Calgary; completed residency in Family Medicine before her second residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The Ohio State University Hospital and a Hand and Microsurgery fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine with additional advanced training at Toronto Sickkids, Shriners Hospital, Harvard/Beth Israel Medical Centers.
Throughout her training she has received numerous honors and awards. She has participated in overseas medical missions to India and China and is published in leading professional publications. Her thirst for excellence and expanding her knowledge is still alive.
During her upbringing and extensive travels, she has enjoyed hiking, skiing, yoga, ceramics, art and music. Her life has made her appreciative that the function of hands provides a quality of life and a means of communication essential to living.
Dr Spaeth has dedicated her career to providing patient centered, high quality, compassionate care and daily strives to do so in a community practice setting. She works with her patients to improve hand function and offer patients a way back to meaningful use of their hands.
